Exclusive Interview: Unique Mariana Bo - DJ, musician, violinist, producer...

Sandra Borrego Mariana Robles, born in Mexico, grew up a member of a dynasty of artists fluent in both between painting and musical instruments. As a child, she began to hear a variety of sounds and play with various instruments to quickly develop a keen sense of music. At 12, she got involved in musiс, starting with drums and Latin percussion.

Now Mariana experiments with different genres such as EDM,Minimal, Tech House, Electro, Progressive, and Deep House. Being a versatile DJ, and using her knowledge of classical music, has afforded Mariana the opportunity to collaborate with many artists across a variety of genres. Mariana has performed with internationally renowned artists and national talent such as TIESTO,MARTIN GARRIX, DASH BERLIN, ABOVE & BEYOND, HARDWELL, STEVE AOKI, NERVO, R3HAB, PAUL OAKENFOLD,SEBASTIAN INGROSSO,NICKY ROMERO, DVBBS,MAKJ, DANNIC, YOLANDA BE COOL, JULIAN JORDAN,DON DIABLO, ALEXANDRA STAN,INNA. Mariana Bo has positioned herself as one of Mexico's most popular DJ appearing at among the best events and clubs in the country, as well as traveling all over LATIN AMERICA, and the U.S.

DjaneMag: Who is the author of your nickname? What does it mean? Or is it your real name?)

Mariana Bo: It is my real name. Mariana is my name, and BO is short for my last name; Borrego. 

DjaneMag: Being a female DJs, how it looks like? 

Mariana Bo: I'm proud of being part of the electronic scene, which is mainly ruled by males. At the end of the day what matters is the effort, dedication and passion that you print in your music/career as musician or DJ. That's what gives us success in this business. 

DjaneMag: What was the coolest club or festival where you worked, name please country and city? 

Mariana Bo: Well I've had lots of cool experiencies. Some of my favorite would be: 
*This year that I played at EDC Festival in Circuit Grounds Stage, Mexico. 
*I was at The City, Cancun Mx playing with Steve Aoki, Hardwell, Dannic, R3hab and Paul Oakenfold. 
*And also I played at Mayan Madness Festival in Tulum, Mx with Nicky Romero, Don Diablo and DVBBS 

DjaneMag: Is there any female Dj you admire and want to play with? 

Mariana Bo: I really like Nervo, Annie Mac, Miss Nine. And I would love to work together with any of them. 

DjaneMag: What style of music do you play? What style of music do you listen at home? 

Mariana Bo: I like to be versatile and flexible. I can go from Deep House, Future House, Minimal, Big Room, to Bounce, HipHop and Trap. But my specialty would be Electro House, EDM. 
In my spare time, I like to listen to classical music. 

DjaneMag: What are your biggest sources of inspiration when you are mixing or producing music? 

Mariana Bo: I get most of my musicel inspiration from KSHMR, W&W, Armin Van Buren and Showtek. In my productions you may notice certain nuances from them. But as for my theoretical and musical concept, I am inspired mainly by Mozart and Bach. Since I am violiniste and am studying classical music 

DjaneMag: What’s the most enjoyable part of your job? 

Mariana Bo: I really enjoy being able to make people smile, jump and dance with my music. I love the adrenaline and awesome energy I get to feel everytime I go up on the stage. To see how people love and enjoy my productions is the greatest feeling of all. 
Also I enjoy meeting new places and people. 

DjaneMag: What’s the most difficult thing about your job? 

Mariana Bo: This is a time consuming job, because it requires constant travel, when on tour. In my case I'm still studying music career, so I need to distribute my time to produce, study and have my presentations. The hard part is not having time to rest when needed. 

DjaneMag: Do you have any exclusive news for readers at this moment you wanna share? 

Mariana Bo: Besides playing a main role in my country. I have represented Mexico in U.S.A. and South America. And last month I just performed for the first time in Europe, a very exciting experience for me. I will close this year with a major festival that I will soon make public. Next year is gonna be full of activity with large-scale festivals in Mexico and abroad, not to mention my new productions and releases.
